Prairie HS Girls

Welcome to the home page for Prairie HS Girls Basketball, one of the most dominate programs in the state for the past 28 years. Placing in the top 6 of the state tournament 23 times, Winning 5 state championships, and playing in the Semi-finals of the state tourney 9 of the last 11 years, is just an example of the dominance in this sport, by Prairie HS in the state of Washington. It is no wonder why Prairie is the home of Champions. We run an active summer program in the month of June for our players, and have many of our kids participating in the Columbia Cascades Basketball Club viewing period tour team in the month of July.

Prairie HS is located in a rural setting in East Clark County near Vancouver, Washington. The street address of the school is: 11500 N.E. 117th Ave. Vancouver. It is one of two high schools in the Battle Ground School District. It is a 3-A Classification school.

The Prairie Girls Basketball program is one of the top basketball programs in Washington. We have enjoyed tremendous success throughout the 28 years of the schools existence. We ran our consecutive win streak to 115 games against league opponents, and are 105 – 0 in league the last 10 years. We have won 10 consecutive League and District Titles.

The Head Coach is Al Aldridge. Al has been at Prairie since the doors opened in 1979. Prairie has turned out more D-1, and D-2 Girls Basketball Scholarship Athletes than any high school in Washington.

Al Aldridge was selected as the Regional (6 states) Coach of the Year in 2006 by the National Federation of State High School Associations is a finalist for” National Federation Coach of the Year.”

Coach Al Aldridge was named as WBCA National Co- Coach of the year in 2000.

Prairie HS has 3 Girls Basketball Teams for freshman though seniors, and a youth program for players that live within our service area in grades 5,6,7, and 8.

Prairie is the home of Ashley Corral.

She was Prairie’s first McDonalds All-American. Ashley was also voted as the MVP for the 4-A state tournament in 2008. She was also the Gatorade Washington Player of the Year in 2008, also the Seattle Times, and Tacoma News Tribunes, and AP sports Writers Player of the Year in Washington for all Classifications.

Ashley is Prairie HS’s most decorated Girls Basketball Player. She has broken a number of school records, and is currently attending the University of Southern California. Ashley was also selected to the USA Basketball 18 U team and started all 6 games of the World Federation games in July in Argentina. Ashley was the starting point guard on that USA Team and led her team to the Gold Medal.
